Who We Are

At Yes Lanka – Child & Women Protection United Organization, we believe every child and every woman deserves a life of dignity, safety, and opportunity. Founded with compassion and driven by purpose, we are a non-profit organization committed to protecting the rights of vulnerable children and women across Sri Lanka.

Our work is rooted in the values of humanity, equality, and empowerment. We focus on practical, long-term solutions that bring real change — from providing educational support and nutritious meals for children, to offering business training and financial assistance to struggling women. We also respond to emergencies, help rebuild lives after disasters, and ensure clean water and electricity reach rural schools.

We are not just an organization — we are a movement of hope. A growing network of passionate individuals, volunteers, donors, and partners working together to build a more just and compassionate society.

What We Do

Children’s Education

We are dedicated to improving the quality of education for children in Sri Lanka. Our initiatives include providing scholarships, school supplies, and learning materials to underprivileged children. We also focus on improving school infrastructure and training teachers to ensure a better learning environment.

Clean Drinking Water Systems

Access to clean drinking water is a fundamental right. We install clean drinking water systems in rural schools, ensuring that students have access to safe and healthy water. This not only improves their health but also reduces absenteeism caused by waterborne diseases.

Offgrid Solar Projects

Many rural schools lack access to electricity, which hampers their ability to provide quality education. Our small offgrid solar projects bring electricity to these schools, enabling them to use modern teaching aids like computers and projectors, and to hold classes in the evening if necessary.

Providing Computers

In today’s digital age, computer literacy is crucial. We provide computers to rural schools that lack these facilities, ensuring that students gain the necessary skills to compete in the modern world. We also conduct computer training workshops for both students and teachers.

School Lunch Program

Many children in rural schools suffer from malnutrition, which affects their ability to learn. We provide lunch to poor rural schools where fewer than 100 children are being educated, ensuring that every child receives at least one nutritious meal a day. This program not only improves health but also encourages school attendance..

Supporting Women Entrepreneurs

Empowering women through entrepreneurship is a key focus of our organization. We provide training, resources, and financial support to help poor women start their own businesses. By doing so, we enable them to achieve economic independence and improve their families’ living standards.

A Brighter Future for Nadeesha

Nadeesha, a 9-year-old girl from a small village in Anuradhapura, used to miss school often because her family couldn’t afford books or meals. She would go to school hungry, sometimes wearing the same torn uniform for weeks.
Through Yes Lanka, Nadeesha received free school supplies, a new uniform, and daily lunch at school. Today, she attends school regularly and dreams of becoming a teacher.

Shanika’s Journey to Independence

Shanika, a 35-year-old mother of two from Kurunegala, struggled to support her children after her husband left. She had no job and no skills, and her family was living in poverty.
With the support of Yes Lanka, Shanika joined a women’s entrepreneurship training program. She learned how to start her own food stall and received a small grant to get started.
Today, Shanika runs a successful street food business and earns enough to send her children to school.
